Organic Produce

A choice respectful of the territory

Saladini Pilastri company has been following the rules of sustainable, low-impact organic farming, which preserves the produce’s high-quality standard, since 1994. It has always been attentive to the evolution of consumption as no longer based on social status but on “lifestyles” and, thus, to health and environmental protection issues. Organic farming is a production method that ensures high-quality products and the protection of natural resources, the environment, the ecosystem and the health of people, animals and plants.

All farming activities are centered on the soil and its fertility. The organic farming method is based on prevention and excludes the use of chemical or GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms) products.

The company relies on a sustainable and low-impact farming method.

Sustainable as it refers to a broader definition of sustainability in social, environmental and economic terms applied to organic agriculture, while low-impact not only excludes the use of chemical substances but involves also the reintroduction and preservation of physical, chemical, biological fertility, of biodiversity and of the various forms of life that can be found in a field. If we want to produce in an “organic” way, the winegrowing ecosystem must be as well-balanced as possible.

The use of the organic farming method makes our company’s commitment to environmental protection known to consumers and, along with our certifications, is one of the company’s marketing strengths on national and international markets.

Organic farming is governed by European Council Regulation 2092/91 and by subsequent supplements which regulate farming and processing methods and the import from third countries.

Saladini Pilastri complies with a strict international control system conducted by IMC (Mediterranean Institute of Certification). IMC is authorized to issue organic farming certifications on the European, American, Japanese and Canadian markets by the single countries’ legal authorities. Organic farming certifications issued by IMC are fully compliant with international ISO65 standards (Sincert Accreditation) and international IFOAM standards (IOAS Accreditation).
